                   Gwen is a native of Pittsburgh, PA.  In 1996 she was asked by Leon Daniels to join his oldies group named Leon Daniels and the El Venos.  The El Venos were originally formed in the 50’s and had hits on the national record charts.  While with the El Venos, the group along, with other Pittsburgh groups, recorded two music videos for WPGH TV Channel 13. The El Venos also appeared on the same stage with the Skyliners, Little Richard, the Dubs and the Vogues.  On several occasions the El Venos sang backup vocals for Eddie Holman when he appeared in Pittsburgh.  In 2003 Leon Daniels began having health issues and was unable to continue performing.  Gwen has shared the stage with the Temptations and the Supremes.  She has also done solo appearances on stage with Kenny Vance and the Planatones, the New Holidays, Johnny Angel and the Halos, the Magic Moments and more. 


                        In February 2009 Mr. Alexander “Nick” Nichols asked Gwen to join his Southern Comfort Band as a jazz and R&B vocalist.

            Nick is a native of Spartanburg, SC where he started his early education of music at the age of 12.  He played trombone in the stage bands, marching bands and concert bands.  He finished first in statewide competition during his junior and senior years in high school resulting in a full music scholarship to SC State University. He played first chair on the “Marching 101” and the concert band.


            Nick plays keyboards and trombone with MidLife Crisis Band.  This is a rock group that plays for charities and has raised over $100,000 for local charities including CAPA High School, Girl’s Hope, Spina Bifida Association of Western Pa, Red Cross, Kuntu Repertory Theatre and Big Brother Big Sister.


            Nick along with Saxophonist Calvin Stemley formed Southern Comfort Band in February 2009.  The band’s musical focus is Jazz and R&B.

Played with Dynamic Sounds( Chilites Backup Band) 1967, Performed at Regal Theatre Stage Show featuring James Brown and Stevie Wonder (Soulful Exotics Band) 1968, Opening Act for Commodores (Solid State Band) 1971, Performed for the Inauguration of President William Tolbert with Grambling State University Marching Band (GSU) in Liberia Africa (1971), GSU Marching Band shared halftime performance with Duke Ellington Orchestra (1974), Member of MAN Band, Pittsburgh , PA (1976), Member of  Hurricanes R&B Band (1984-1989), Arranger for University of Pittsburgh Jazz Ensemble (1976-78), Band Leader of  HOUSE OF SOUL   (R&B 12 piece band) (1991-to present), Founded CROSS CULTURE JAZZ QUARTET ( 2006), Founder of VARIETY BAND (R&B ) 2007, Founder of  IT TAKES TWO DUO (Jazz) 2007,    Founder of ALL BY MYSELF (Sax and I-Pod) 2007, Free lance Jazz Artist, Former member of  PROTÉGÉ BAND, Member of MIDLIFE CRISIS  (Rock Band).
